She has studied with Maty Ezraty, Chuck Miller, Rodney Yee, Ramanand Patel, and Shiva Rea. She currently teaches in the Bay Area and travels for trainings and retreats, bringing the blend of yoga, kalari (a powerful, ancient Indian martial art) and graceful movement to more people. In addition, Elise is also a writer, photographer, and filmmaker, and a contributor to Yoga Journal magazine.
Bex has taught yoga and Pilates and led retreats in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2000. She was introduced to meditation as a child and her formal training includes Ashtanga, power vinyasa, Anusara and in-depth knowledge of anatomy and the body. Her teaching is strongly influenced by Erich Schiffmann, Gurumukh Kaur Khalsa, and the precise alignment from the Iyengar lineage. Bex leads with enthusiasm, warmth, and a gentle sense of humor. Her approach focuses on developing an awareness of the breath as the essential connection between the mind, body, and movement. She practices yoga at home with her two sons and daughter, who remind her daily of the importance of presence, love, patience and happiness.
