We love it when meditation--such a solitary pursuit--gets some public recognition.

That's what happened in an article by Irina Aleksander from The New York Times, which centers around how British comedian Russell Brand has discovered Transcendental Meditation (TM).

In doing so, the article touts the benefits of meditation, including lowering blood pressure and reducing stress, and then quotes celebrity meditators such as Dr. Mehmet Oz and Susan Sarandon about why they meditate.

Brand said that he meditates twice a day for about 20 minutes each session. He's not the only one, apparently: The article says that the numbers of TM practitioners has tripled over the past three years.

"Transcendental Meditation has been incredibly valuable to me both in my
recovery as a drug addict and in my personal life, my marriage, my
professional life," Brand said.

We want to know: How has meditation benefited you?
