A regular yoga practice can be particularly helpful in relieving stress, by helping to slow and deepen breathing, stretch and strengthen the body, and quiet the chattering mind.
Here is a particular practice called Lion's Pose that can be very helpful for stress, because it combines a physical movement with breathwork to detoxify and relax your whole body:
Sit back on your heels and place your hands on your knees, palms down. (Place a rolled blanket under your ankles if they are stiff, or on top of your heels if you have knee problems.) Sit tall, releasing your sitting bone toward your heels as you extend up through the crown of your head. Inhale deeply, then stick your tongue out toward your chin as far as it will go, open your eyes wide, stare up past your eyebrows (or down at your nose) as you exhale with a roaring noise like a lion—or just shout HAAAAA!! —as loudly and as long as you can. Relax and breathe normally. Then try it again. You'll have fun as the stress melts away.
