Barefoot Movement is a sunny third-floor studio with huge windows, high ceilings and beautiful wood floors located in the heart of downtown Oakland. This down-to-earth, community-oriented studio, directed by Leah Gillman, offers a friendly, personal approach to practice and in-depth study of yoga and Barefoot Bodywork.
The studio offers a full daily schedule of affordable classes in flow yoga, prenatal yoga, postnatal yoga, and restorative. Bilingual instruction is offered in English-Spanish and English-Japanese.
Advanced study, workshops and trainings are offered throughout the year in a variety of schedules. The studio’s programs are both rich in experience and affordable in price! Monthly payment options and early registration discounts are available.
The Flow Yoga Teacher Training program (FYTT) is registered with Yoga Alliance for 200 hr & 500 hr certification. The program provides the necessary structure, motivating and encouraging all levels of students, while additional opportunities are made available to those who are ready for more. The program is directed by Leah Gillman, joined by instructors Carrie Adams (Anusara), Cybèle Tomlinson (ViniYoga), Eric Shaw (Prasana), Kristin Marshman (Ashtanga), Mary Beth Ray (Ashtanga Vinyasa), and more.
Barefoot Bodywork is a deeply penetrating form of massage that brings ease to both the practitioner and client. Classes are offered in both mini-class and full-program formats. Open up a career opportunity by completing a comprehensive 90-hour program that develops awareness in the feet, coordination and balance, and a full-body treatment. Edward Spencer, senior instructor, joins Leah in teaching people to massage with their feet.
