The Course:
This internationally-renowned course is residential and fulfills the requirements for the Yoga Alliance 200-hour certification. It teaches proficiency in practicing yoga and teaching it to others. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive certification from the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers entitled "Yoga Siromani" (teacher of yoga). Course graduates earn university credits towards graduate degrees from the Open International University for Alternative Medicine. This course has been taught for more than 40 years, and over 21,000 teachers have successfully graduated from this course.

The Teachers:
The course was created and taught by the late Swami Vishnudevananda. It is now taught by his senior disciples.

Location:
The Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat is an island paradise with crystal clear waters and pure white sands, a true sanctuary of peace and natural beauty. It is located across the bay from Nassau, on one of the finest beaches of the world.

Curriculum:
Theory and practice of yogic postures, breathing, relaxation, diet and nutrition, positive thinking and meditation. In addition the students will be immersed in the theory and practice of karma yoga, bhakti yoga, raja yoga, mantra yoga, Kundalini Yoga, hatha yoga, jnana yoga, anatomy and physiology, and in-depth study of the Bhagavad Gita.
