Time For Yoga (OM Santi Yoga Corp) was established in 2004 in order to introduce hatha yoga to the community and demonstrate how its practice can be used to maximize health and wellness.
We offer hatha yoga classes for beginners and experienced practitioners and free community classes weekly with donations of nonperishable food items to Project Hospitality. We are also home to the local Girl Scout troop. We periodically offer both educational workshops and fundraisers in support of national and international nonprofit organizations. The studio specialize in Yoga Nidra, the ancient deep relaxation technique, a practice of emotional, mental and physical relaxation. Group classes include pranayama (breathing exercises), asana (postures), Savasana (relaxation), and dhyana (meditation).
Our website provides online registration; descriptions of classes, schedules and pricing; and an overview of hatha yoga through articles which include the threads of traditional yoga philosophy. Explanations of various types of pranayama, steps to meditation, chakra theory, benefits of yoga practice, etc. are also included.
The yoga center is conveniently located in Staten Island, New York, one mile from the Verrazano Bridge. Parking is available. Drop-ins are welcomed to group classes. However, we recommend online registration to ensure availability.
