Celebrating 20 years - Howard County's best yoga center offers comprehensive Yoga Alliance certification programs at the 200 and 500 hour levels.

Teaching yoga is, fundamentally, an expression of  your personal experience - not only your experience on the yoga mat but also your experience of life, of being with people, and communicating as a teacher.

RYT200 is an 11-month Yoga Alliance certification program, weekends, January-November 2013. If you desire a deeper understanding of yoga, this program will enrich your yoga and your life, even if you have no intention to teach!  This student-centered program includes personal growth, a solid teaching foundation, and individual mentoring - Aligns with the root aspects of posture, breath, meditation, intention, service.

This course has been carefully designed to be comprehensive, professional, and yet convenient for busy lifestyles. Upon satisfactory completion of this program, you will be entitled to register with Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level (RYT200). You can find more information and download brochures on our website: www.columbiayoga.com.

The RYT500 Yoga Alliance certification program will be offered for 15 months, weekends from January 2013  March 2014. This program will also include how to offer private yoga sessions, effective sequencing, developing yoga workshops and specialized study in an area of interest to you.  We will explore and experience different styles and approaches to asana practice, meditation and the business of yoga.

Guest teachers will be offering their expertise in the following content areas:

Advanced Asana, Pranayama, Philosophy, Yoga Anatomy, iRest, Yoga Nidra, Meditation, Yoga Therapeutics, Ayurveda, Sanskrit, Restorative Yoga, Assisting and Adjusting.

Guest Teachers include: Roger Cole, Doug Keller, John Schumacher, Ellen Saltonstall, Zoe Mai, Moses Brown, Lucy Lomax, Cheryl Catranbone, Robin Carnes, Penny Diamanti , Belinda Bear

Other guest teachers will be invited from various Yoga traditions.
