Our comprehensive yoga teacher training programs are rich, in-depth studies that provide a foundation for all styles of teaching and practicing. We encourage each trainee to plunge deep into the ocean of yoga, to discover the transformative power of the practice. We provide an intelligent, contemporary approach deeply rooted in ancient wisdom. Our trainings are a blend of multiple classic styles, combining the precision of alignment-based yoga, the breath-synchronized flow of Ashtanga vinyasa and the emphasis on adaptation to the individual from Krishnamacharya.
The 200-hour Foundation Training will deepen your own personal practice and prepare you to intelligently teach beginning and intermediate yoga classes. We believe that establishing a firm foundation in your own yoga practice is key to becoming an inspiring yoga teacher. You will learn how to use the tools and techniques from all eight limbs of yoga. Our philosophy is non-dogmatic. By immersing yourself in the study of yoga, you move toward becoming a balanced, whole individual deeply connected with yourself, others and the world that we live in.
The 500-hour Advanced Training is a comprehensive, unified program designed to refine your teaching and sequencing skills. You will study yoga philosophy in-depth and develop expertise in adaptation and therapeutic yoga. Graduates become specialized and highly skilled yoga teachers who can make a living teaching private lessons, specialized classes and workshops.
Prairie Yoga was founded in 2006 and has certified over 125 yoga teachers. We are a 200- and 500-hour registered Yoga Alliance school.
