Lila Yoga teacher training, led by Colleen Breeckner, E-RYT 500, and special guest teacher, philosophy and meditation guru Christopher Tompkins, is likely to be the most inspiring and thorough training in Westchester County. Exploring many different styles of yoga, this 200-hour training will serve as a strong foundation for teaching both flow and alignment practices.

A visionary training designed for growth and transformation on all levels: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually!!

In this training you will learn:

  • How to sequence and teach a 60- to 90-minute class, plus how to learn to teach private yoga
  • How to assist and adjust
  • How to recognize and modify poses for injuries and illness
  • How to identify emotional and energetic blocks and how to sequence for them
  • Yoga anatomy and physiology

An in-depth exploration of:

  • The history of yoga
  • Yoga philosophy and meditation
  • Chanting and breathwork (pranayama)

plus...

  • Benefit from one-on-one mentoring to help set your focus and uncover and refine your teaching message.
  • Learn the business and ethics of yoga, understand common pitfalls and how to avoid politics and the diluting of yoga by staying true to your authentic self.
In addition, this training will explore the various styles of hatha yoga with comparative analysis of the philosophical influences intrinsic to each style. The program will also dissect what it means to "live your yoga" from all angles, with special attention placed on conscious communication as a tool for upholding spiritual ethics in business. We will also cover yoga as supplemental treatment for mood disorders and mental illness.

This training will be run in a weekend format: two weekends per month for six months.
