The American Viniyoga Institute, under the leadership of Gary Kraftsow, offers authentic and ancient teachings for personal practice and for aspiring teachers and yoga therapists.    

The Viniyoga lineage is an approach to yoga that adapts practice to the unique conditions, needs and interests of individuals and groups—giving practitioners, teachers and yoga therapists the tools to individualize and actualize the process of self-discovery, personal transformation and healing. 

The 200-hour Viniyoga Wellness Instructor training is offered regionally in a weekend format by senior AVI faculty. Learn how to teach the foundational principles of Viniyoga in a variety of settings.  

The 300-/500-hour Viniyoga Foundations Program for teaching and yoga therapy is a  comprehensive immersion in Viniyoga methodology for personal development, teaching safe and effective group and private yoga classes and to prepare to enter the Viniyoga Therapist training.  Develop confidence in your ability to transmit Viniyoga teachings on asana, pranayama, meditation, chanting and yoga philosophy.  New programs start in 2014 at Mount Madonna Center in Watsonville, California and Yogaville in Buckingham, Virgina. 

The Viniyoga Therapist training prepares yoga teachers and health professionals who are trained in the Viniyoga methodology to work with individuals with structural, physiological and emotional conditions, and focuses on the development of clinical skills in yoga therapy for work with individuals and groups.  Your study starts in the 200-hour Viniyoga Wellness Instructor training or the 300-/500-hour Viniyoga Foundations Program.
