Learn to guide the LifeForce Yoga evidence-based techniques of asana, pranayama, mantra, mudra, relaxation and meditation for vitality, healing and mood management. We take our philosophical base from the classical yoga texts and the decades-deep well of practice and experience that directors Amy Weintraub (founder of the LifeForce Yoga Healing Institute and author of Yoga for Depression and Yoga Skills for Therapists: Effective Practices for Mood Management), Rudy Pierce (senior Kripalu Yoga teacher trainer, known as the "Gentle Yogi") and our exceptional faculty bring. Senior functional yoga therapist Maria Kali Ma directs anatomy and physiology in our training. The directors' depth of study and passion for training teachers forms the incredibly rich container for this unique Yoga Alliance-approved teacher training experience.
Develop the effectiveness to guide well-supported movements and asana, instructed with clear details of alignment, while being mindful of students' experiences, conditions and limitations. Become familiar with principles of movement, anatomy and the effect on all the physiological systems of the human organism.
Learn to create a complete yoga experience, including all the elements that provide a deeply internal, stimulating and integrating class.
You will be prepared to teach a truly transformational yoga class to a majority of populations including people with physical limitations and mood issues, as well as those who appear to be more physically adept.
Module Two: February 22–March 6, 2014
