The Yoga Teachers Association (YTA) was created by a small group of pioneering yoga teachers in 1979 who saw the need for affordable and continuing education. They also wanted to create a community of people interested in yoga.
The Yoga Teachers Association is a nonprofit, educational organization dedicated to continuing and improving the quality of hatha yoga teaching in accordance with the high standards of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and as developed by great yoga masters. Based in Westchester, New York, the YTA serves members from the Tri-State area. Currently, membership totals more than 200 yoga teachers and serious students of yoga.
Ongoing Learning:
In the interest of furthering a student's knowledge and deepening his or her yoga practice, the YTA offers a different workshop every month. Many of the YTA workshops are taught by nationally recognized yoga instructors who offer a variety of techniques and styles.
Most workshops are three hours long, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and are usually scheduled for the third Saturday of each month. Workshops are fee-based and open to the public.
Members of the YTA receive discounted pricing for monthly workshops. Please visit our website to see the upcoming workshops.
