The TriYoga® Center of Philadelphia offers TriYoga classes, teacher trainings, private and semi-private instruction, and workshops with senior teachers. The center promotes transformation, connection, balance, well-being and the exploration of mind-body-spirit connections.
TriYoga, founded by Kali Ray, is a complete method that includes the full range of traditional yoga practices, including hatha, nada, karma, bhakti and jnana yoga practices. The TriYoga Flows unite breath (pranayama), focus (mudra), and flowing and sustained postures (asana) in systematized sequences. The method is systematic; students can progress as they increase in flexibility, strength, endurance and knowledge of the method. Through sustained awareness on all aspects of the practice, the inner flow naturally emerges. The practice is deeply meditative and transformative.
The TriYoga Flows are unique due to their distinctive and systematic sequencing, the wavelike spinal movements, the union of posture, breath and focus, the emphasis on economy of motion, natural alignment and pacing, and the systematized Prana Vidya practices (breathing, concentration, meditation). TriYoga is unique because it was not created, but rather inspired and guided by Kaliji's direct experience of the spontaneous flow of asana, pranayama and mudra. This continues to guide its evolution.
Basics is the foundational level for all classes. It introduces core alignments, wavelike spinal movements and the principles of flow. It is for those new to TriYoga, those who want to strengthen their core alignments, or those who would like a restorative class. Students can then progress from levels I to VII, gradually learning the postures and practices of each level.
