Practice with Awareness: Education and Training in Classical Yoga
Learn asana, pranayama, philosophy and a range of yoga-related topics with Asia's longest-running and leading yoga educator since 1999. Founder Paul Dallaghan is the only teacher certified by both O.P. Tiwari and the late Pattabhi Jois.
—200-Hour Level Foundation Training—
This comprehensive training covers the vital aspects of yoga and goes deep into the practice, refining your ability to pass on the message to others. A lot of thought has been put into making it challenging yet appropriate for this level. In essence, it is an all-around education in yoga intended to expand your horizons and develop your abilities and strengths. It is a foundation course—a necessity to move forward in any aspect of yoga practice and teaching.
The training prepares you to lead a basic Ashtanga class, give adjustments, and apply all of this to a variety of levels of hatha/vinyasa and flow-style classes. Basic breathing techniques and chants will also be covered.
In addition Stephen Thomas will be leading one program per year, allowing students the opportunity to approach the asana classes from a hatha vinyasa approach while also developing a self practice.
—500-Hour Level Advanced Training—
While professional organizations, such as Centered Yoga and Yoga Alliance, require continuing education for teachers, we hope you choose to take these courses out of a sincere and genuine interest in learning rather than out of obligation or necessity. If you put your growth and development first, everything else follows easily and automatically, even any requirements you may need for certification.
The yoga path is continuous. To grow in your practice, some focused time in study is essential, with proper guidance. The advanced training courses serve as part of this continuing education by covering specific subject matter in depth, furthering practice, and offering the opportunity for you to spend time in direct contact with your teacher(s).
