If yoga is the dissolution of all self-limiting thoughts, patterns and tendencies, then self-awareness and getting free are the keys!
Yoga Hanalei offers a non-dogmatic, practical and fresh approach to hatha yoga, appreciating it as an evolving science and art of living well-being. We recognize there are as many paths to yoga as there are individuals, and strive to offer a diverse selection of styles, approaches and disciplines to best fit the individual's needs.
Our teacher training is in its ninth year and is a comprehensive program utilizing a fusion of hatha, Ashtanga, restorative, Iyengar, vinyasa and flow yoga. The training cultivates a well-rounded and holistic approach, where the aim is to teach the student, not just a style.
Trainings never have more than 30 participants, so students are guaranteed plenty of quality instruction and attention. Students will gain a strong foundation in the methodology, philosophy, psychology and practical aspects of yoga. We will explore the science of asana (posture) and the art of addressing the individual's needs.
Specific attention to alignment and detail empowers the student to develop a personal practice as well as leading great classes. Students will learn adjustments, how to successfully read bodies and physiologies, and how to make the necessary modifications for each individual's benefit. A strong emphasis is on Patanjali's Yoga Sutra and the importance of integrative yogic psychology in supporting the growth of the psyche. 200- and 500-hour certificates.
We believe that yoga is the art of transformation and of finding peace in mind, body and spirit, and that in this day and age, yoga is needed more than ever!
