Namaste USA Yoga, RYS began offering yoga teacher training in the Dallas area in 2003. Our mission is to inspire you to develop and refine your own practice and deepen your knowledge of yoga, so that you become a safe and effective guide for your students. When we succeed in these goals, your options to make a real difference in the lives of your students, family, and friends are greatly expanded.
Namaste USA carries on the legacy of Namaste International, which in 1997 became the first teacher training school available in Dallas. As a Yoga Alliance Registered School we offer both 200 and 500 hour programs. Training is scheduled over a series of 20-hour weekend immersions once monthly and focuses on the experiential, practical and theoretical aspects of yoga and its potential to bring about holistic transformation. Students who simply wish to deepen their own yoga practice are also welcome.
The curriculum provides in-depth study and practice of asana and pranayama; meditation; chanting; physical and energetic aspects of anatomy and physiology; yoga philosophy, ethics and lifestyle; teaching methodology; and practicum--all the areas of study needed to prepare knowledgeable yoga teachers with excellent qualifications.
Namaste USA Yoga's faculty members are highly experienced experts in their respective fields, providing you with the opportunity to build your teaching skills and knowledge and to excel in your chosen work.
Our asana/posture teaching method is based on Vanda Scaravelli's teachings in Awakening the Spine. Based on understanding and utilizing the natural principles of gravity and breath, these insights can revolutionize your own practice as you learn to harness gravity and breath rather than effort and will to practice each asana, listening to your innate wisdom and physical sensations in a way that works with instead of against your body.
Dramatic results are common and to be expected. Many of our graduates specialize in teaching Vanda Scaravelli's unique approach in their own classes and workshops, most widely available in the Dallas area. Our graduates now teach and offer workshops and retreats in several states in the US as well as in Hong Kong, a variety of European cities and in several states outside Texas.
