The Prajna Yoga School, certified with Yoga Alliance, was founded by Tias Little and offers certification in both the 200- and 500-hour teacher training programs. It includes in-depth studies and continuing education: asana, yoga therapeutics, yoga anatomy, sutras, poetry, Buddhism, meditation and devotional chanting to inspire students to practice and teach with creativity and adaptability. Students are empowered to tap their greatest potential to teach with strength, confidence, insight and imagination. "Prajna" means "wisdom" or "deep understanding," and our aim is to teach a yogic way of being, both on and off the mat.
The program is designed to offer the highest quality of continuing education and study for the committed student. The program is flexible in that it can be completed by taking the courses independently at various times during the year or by enrolling in the summer program in Santa Fe where the entire program is offered in June and July.
We start with the premise that a dedicated yoga practice involves not only physical discipline but also a combination of scientific rigor, profound contemplation, developed sensitivity and penetrating practice. Our aim is not to set up a yoga system that churns out students in a specific style or methodology of practice. In this sense our continuing education program is akin to models of higher education, for our aim is to educate, not indoctrinate. To that end, the Prajna Yoga in-depth yogic studies and practice program offers an extremely rich and varied curriculum.
