Yoga As Medicine (YAM) Seminars with Dr. Timothy McCall are medically and scientifically informed while remaining true to the heart of Yoga and Ayurveda. These hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves workshops use a personalized therapeutic approach based on an in-depth evaluation of five categories, using the acronym SNAPS: Structural, Nervous System, Ayurveda, Psychology and Spirituality. This holistic roadmap allows for a systematic assessment of function on all levels of body, mind and spirit. YAM uses the full palette of yogic tools including asana, pranayama, and meditation, as well as dietary and lifestyle advice.
Yoga As Medicine -- YAM Level 1
Learn to observe bodies, study breathing patterns, analyze Ayurvedic doshas, and tailor personalized therapeutic practices.
YAM Level 2's
In response to requests from past YAM attendees, YAM Level 2 seminars are being introduced. Two of these, "The Ayurveda of Yoga Therapy" and "Yoga Therapy for the Nervous System," begin in 2014. Level 2's on structural issues and psychological/spiritual healing, are coming in 2015. Prerequisite: YAM Level 1.
