Begun in January 2006, Unnata® pioneered the field of Aerial Yoga. Founder, Michelle Dortignac, created the Unnata technique based on over 20 years of Yoga practice and over 15 years as a Yoga instructor. The technique continues to develop through the high level of training and creativity of current Unnata Aerial Yoga teachers.
We help students and teachers alike find a different relationship to gravity, and deepen their understanding of alignment and Prana flow. The Unnata Aerial Yoga teacher training program instructs not only what to do with the hammock, but also teaches why we do it. Understanding the reasons behind a method is the only way to master a technique.
"The reason we chose the Unnata program is because it remains a Yoga course designed around the hammock, not a number of tricks under the guise of Yoga." - Carly Bowden and Julie Swart; Aerial Yoga South Africa; Johannesburg, South Africa
