A DIFFERENT APPROACH
Our classes are limited to 6 students, so your teachers will get to know you, your practice, and where you need the most guidance. Yoga 216 offers classes for all levels in both heated and non-heated studios.
Our name comes from the Yoga Sutras, verse 2:16: pain that has not yet come is avoidable. We believe that all pain, in the body and mind, can be avoided through the strong, grounded practice of yoga.
Just like our classes, there are never more than 6 students in a 216 Teacher Training!
Our alignment-based vinyasa classes are founded on the belief that each individual has a unique practice. In 216TT, you will learn in-depth functional anatomy, the ability to apply it to your own practice, and skills to create safe, effective asana classes that honor the individual in a group setting.
216TT curriculum covers extensive anatomy and kinesiology, asana, pranayama, meditation, philosophy and further tools to make ancient yoga teachings useful in our modern day world!
As yoga teachers, people trust us with their bodies. They look to us to guide them through their practice safely, and yet my 200-hour training included a measly 2 days of basic anatomy (which I instantly forgot). The program at 216, by contrast, helped me get a real grasp of this stuff and how to apply it in class. It has steadfastly obliterated my 'imposter syndrome' and turned me into an actual yoga teacher.
