A Mobile Bay area native, Melanie Buffett was first introduced to yoga in the early 90’s. During her first year of practicing yoga consistently, Melanie lost 70 pounds. She attributes the loss and maintenance to simply adopting a healthy, balanced, yogic lifestyle. Having personally experienced the transformative and life saving effects of yoga, Melanie is passionate and dedicated to sharing the knowledge and skills she has learned on her journey.

For 10 years she trained predominantly in Iyengar schools in Los Angeles and New Orleans. Since 2005 Melanie has been immersing herself in John Friend’s Anusara tradition. She is pursuing Anusara-Inspired teaching status. Her highest intentions in teaching yoga are: inspiring students to unveil the divine greatness residing within, giving students tools to work toward healthier minds and bodies, and building a yoga community in lower Alabama.

Classes are student oriented. She assesses every person in the room and addresses the needs of everybody. Melanie is a natural teacher who creates a safe, comfortable, and fun atmosphere for anyone who wishes to learn yoga.

She has taught yoga in Los Angeles, New Orleans, Point Clear, and Fairhope.
