All services are offered by DeAnne C. Gauya, M.S., RYT, HFS, CPT, LMT. DeAnne is exceptionally well-qualified, both academically and experientially. She has a master's degree from Columbia University in nutrition education and has done post-graduate work at UCLA in sports psychology, human anatomy and personal fitness training. She is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Council on Exercise.
DeAnne completed her yoga teacher training with Rolf Gates and has studied with Baron Baptiste and Beryl Bender Birch. She has also had professional training in mindfulness-based stress reduction under Jon Kabat Zinn and has received professional training in Thai Yoga Massage from the Lotus Palm School, in addition to being a nationally certified and CT licensed massage therapist.
DeAnne has been helping people develop healthier lifestyles and actualize their body's capacity for health and well-being for over 20 years. She loves working with people of all ages and fitness levels and is comfortable working with people who have health and/or orthopedic challenges.
DeAnne is a practicing Buddhist. Her gurus are Lama Surya Das, H.H. Dalai Lama and Thich Nhat Hanh. Her motto is "Heal yourself, heal the world."
