The above article is very educational & making us aware how, the opening happens in our hearts & bodies.
We try to breathe slowly & deeper, we certainly open our rib cage much more than just normal breathing through mouth.Conscious breathing brings calmness & internal peace. Thanks for sharing. My students are enjoying your guidance everyday. Blessings.
what is with all the celebrity covers? is this the people-ization of yoga journal? let's have yoga teachers!
Having read the comments concerning larger male representation in the magazine, I would like to say: PLEASE DON'T DO IT. Most men and most women prefer seeing yoga poses demonstrated by women. The magazine is just beautiful as it is. I understand that this view is not politically correct, but just the same... it is true. Please don't change! Thanks, George
Many of us suffer from insecurity or low self esteem and this can be exacerbated by chronically sitting in a position, at a computer, for example where the chest is closed and contracted. The gentle restorative pose recommended in this article is a staple in my backbending practice. For a gentler backbend I will use a rolled blanket. For a little more intensity, I will use a block on it's lowest setting, being careful not to be aggressive. Backbends are a great way to practice compassion for self and others. namaste.
Hi, yes, I too am having trouble printing this article. I can't even get to the article and get this error message. Ideas?

Your old website set-up was infinitely more user frendly than the current one, for example when one asked for an article to be printed under the old set-up, it printed beautifully. Now it does not. The margins are too wide and half the article falls off the page. To print, one has to copy and paste. Generally speaking ... a "dis-improvement"!
