This was a really interesting article, but it went in a different direction than I expected it to. My main question at the moment isn't how to use social networking sites professionally, so much as how to remain professional when students or associates contact me on a site that I use socially. What do you do when a student friends you on Facebook? Is your response different depending on their age or your relationship with them? What lines do you draw to maintain a professional appearance? I love using my Facebook to connect with friends and I don't want it to become a sterile professional page. I'd love to hear some recommendations on how to find this balance!
