I found this article to be particularly helpful. I'm working with 67 year old feet who have been sorely abused.

mary

an excellent article - thank you

Any recommendations for 'charlie horses' or cramps in the foot? It's something new that I'm experiencing....mainly while in - get this - child's pose. Anytime I stretch out my left foot, flattening the top to the floor, I cramp up.

Denis

Reading your article brought me to consider how rock climbing is both demanding yet good for the feet since it works all the muscle of the feet especially the toes that must hold your weigh. I climb low to the ground where there always a save grade. I like to call it Rockchi!

These hard areas of skin may be as a result from your feet stretching out, spreading and toning? Try massaging in 5 drops of tagetes and 5 drops of carrot oil, blended together. Please 'BE' in Yoga, not DO :)

Has anyone had knee problems with certain poses?

Mary Beth

Be careful with the so-called "broken toe" pose. In 1973 when I was 23, I was using a book to study yoga and in doing this pose fractured the sesamoid bones of the big toe joint in one foot.
Naturally, that didn't stop me from doing yoga, but the injury set up bad biomechanics that I have always had to adjust to.

michelle

I have been doing yoga for 3 years. In the last 6months or so I have developed 'corns' on the 'four corners of the feet'. I expect that this is from my increased focus on grounding. Have you had this problem? Any suggestions for rectifying?

Mercedes
