Take a Deep Breath

Certain herbs strengthen both the lungs and the adrenals for deeper breathing.

Though we can use herbs to improve yogic breathing in both yoga asana and pranayama practices, for moderate to severe breathing problems like asthma, seek professional help from a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner or other medical professional. Also, if you're currently using steroidal or other inhalants, do not suddenly stop. They should be gradually phased out with professional guidance.

I started practicing Yoga a few weeks ago, and I have a realy hard time breathing. My air ways are always blocked with mucus. It never bothered me that much, but I'm addited to that Vick's Inhaler. This has been going on for almost 3 years now but I always took it as some mild allergy... this article made it clear that is NOT normal and I will look for a doc in the near future.
