Having just completed yoga teacher training in India and changing my diet completely based on my balance..(well lack of balance)..of doshas, for me, I have no doubt at all of the benefits of following the Ayurvedic system for diet. I wasn't exactly sceptical, but I didn't fully believe it would make much difference to my asana practice - the difference in how I felt and my focus was amazing. I would fully recommend it.
Hello. What do you mean with "Americans"?
With all this rising at 6am to hit an optional meditation, then hitting a hard-start class at 6.30, when the hell do you have time to take a poop? There's your ayurveda for you. Also, the author can't seem to hide her very American/Puritan sensibility at being vata - you multl-task therefore you're special. So not yogic.
earlier, i was not sure about my prakriti(nature) but im very sure now, this article is very helpful thanks.

I thoroughly enjoyed this article, right timing to keep my vata under control... thank you.
I am so grateful of your information. I do yoga once a week along with strength training three times a week. I love to read how the yoga poses support our body and nervous system and help us relax. Yoga Journal breaks down how each pose strengthens our muscles. There is no substitute for yoga. Thank you!
I am in India and read the YG online every day. Have been doing yoga for 20 years and just love whatever you print. Thanks a lot.
