Very interesting article. I would also add what my father, 88, a yogi has done all his life in India. Each morning after his asanas he sits in a cross legged position and does eye excercises.. up and down, rt and left, diagonal and then rotating clock and anti clockwise. Five times. Simple. He is an avid reader and credits his good vision to his yoga.
