Maybe you will feel better to start with if you do not eat granola and soymilk before bed! Try not eating anything after supper. Start the day refreshed and happy!


Another thing: Does anyone find that when they are stressed or depressed, their taste for food changes? Sometimes I crave certain foods and are repulsed by others.


First, I was unaware that fat was easily digested. Simple sugars are. Fat, protein and complex carbs are a dieter's friend because they don't digest so fast. They keep you full for hours. But if you're looking for quick energy, sugar is the way to go and in times of stress, that's what the body begs for.

There was (yesterday I believe) alternate recipes for comfort foods (including mac and cheese!) in Vegetarian Times that give the same boost with healthier ingredients....
