seems most articles are in reference to females. Guys like it too!!! Dont forget us.
I am glad someone else mentioned the pronoun issue.
Only "she" what about "they" or "he". Not very yogic, yoga should be inclusive, regardless. Even pre and post natal, perhaps a gentle partner yoga to involve the man!
I was trying some yoga the other night and my two year old saw me and immediately started mimicking me. Now we can do this together. Fun.
I will use them at my Kids yoga school! Thanks!
I don't think Iyengar was older than 9 years old when he was doing his yoga journal...
For years I taught kids yoga at a preschool for 2-4 year olds . I told lots of stories and incorporated the postures. Songs work great as well for keeping the little ones attention and for introducing postures. Try it- you will have a blast! Beth
My son is 3 and has been doing SOME poses since he was 2? he enjoys doing it before bedtime and naps! and I see a BIG DIFFERENCE in how quickly he goes to bed, and how he calms down faster when he does it on a regular basis.
Kids can be younger than 9. My son did yoga very early. Look at any 3 year old stretch and you will see dog pose, child pose. When my son was 4 (and we had often done deep breathing before bed and some times simple stretches) he bumped his head and needed stitches. The hospital was pretty amazed that he did not need to be restrained to get the stitches. Yoga is good at any age.
