Lilias is always an inspiration, the first lady of yoga. How about a full interview with Lilias today in 2009?
You were my inspiration for starting yoga and I thank you profoundly. Any chance of getting the PBS yoga series on DVD?
Dear Lilias Folan
I am in recovery in a Resource Learning Center in Taunton, Ma because I have a diagnosis of mental health and meds make us gain weight and Liz in our peer support group brought in your tape Alive and it was so inspiring for me and now I am looking for more of your tapes. It was noncompetitive and not intimatating and it was challenging but you went slow enough for us to see and you gave us hope to become more flexible because all of this fat is in our way. You looked great and were nice and made it seem possible for the beginner to achieve. Could you send me any more of you tapes or dvds either/or vcr. We are all ages and appreciate you and your work in yoga. Do you have any pilate tapes out yet? My address is 48 Taunton Green Apt 2 Taunton Ma 02780 Thank you if you do. Sincerely from all of us. Louise

Lilias, you came to Yoga on High...I teach there and always sing the cell song and the one I learned from you...Mother I feel you under my feet...the students love it. Thank you for keeping me young. Namaste, Gail Sky
Lillias, you are such an inspiration to me. I used to watch you on PBS back in the early 70's.I am 54 years old, I have three children and four grandchildren. I could relate to you in so many ways.Because of my yoga practice, my pregnancy and birth went smoothly. I have been practicing yoga for the last 35 years and teaching for 22 years. I am healthy and strong and happy and I love to share my yoga joy.I go to an ashram every year for a week to refresh and replenish. I recently went to the Yoga Journal conference in San Francisco. I discovered Yoga Flow with Sean Corn and Shiva Rea. It changed my life! I would love to meet you some day, only if you come to California. I am very busy with my life taking care of my 86 year old mother, kids and grandkids, and husband and home and full time job working with special Ed. kids and teaching dance and yoga classes . With my busy life the yoga keeps me sane! I think of you often and share your books and tapes with my students! Shalom, JoDee
Before I was even asked to start teacher training, I went to a class with Lilias here in Theobalds College, Enfield, Essex, England as part of a weekend of yoga banck in the early Eighties. She was inspirational and a breath of fresh air. Teachers like Lilian make you want to spread the word. I hope you remember Theobalds, Lilian! A stately home, in the garden of which stands one of the original, huge gates into old London Town, when it was a walled city, as a folly.
I started my Yoga practice with Lilias, Yoga & You on public TV. She was inspiring and , yes, brought Yoga to the masses. Today I practice and I teach, hoping to inspire my students, too. Thank you, Lilias. Namaste.
