Viniyoga is a"concept" (tasya bhumisu viniyogah YS III-6) not a yoga style.

I think it would be helpful to give a couple of examples of what Viniyoga looks like for say, a 70-year-old grandparent experienced in yoga, and for instance a new practitioner of the same age.
Yes, Desikachar does not use the term viniyoga to refer to his teaching. He teaches yoga.
Viniyoga was developed by TKV. He founded it and taught Gary. Gary continues this label whereas TKV does not use that title to label his current teachings. Mr. Desikachar's teaching is fully encompassing all that yoga defines itself to be.

I am under the impression that Viniyoga is a child of Gary Krafstow, who studied with Mr. Desikachar. Gary's wife, Mirka, is also a name to be mentioned with Viniyoga. She is the yoga contact for Viniyoga here in Northern California.
She would be a wonderful source for Yoga Journal.
I expected more info on Viniyoga as well as on Desikachar's contribution to yoga.
Yoga Journal as well as it's site is my great, great source of yoga inspiration and knowledge.
