Dynamic Yoga by Godfrey Devereux
British yoga teacher Godfrey Devereux's Dynamic Yoga combines Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Desikachar's Viniyoga into a careful and well-rounded system. He frames his method by correlating the five elements with five techniques: drushti (attention), asana, vinyasa, bandhas, and pPranayama. Then he presents 78 postures in four series: pacifying, foundational, preparatory, and short practices, all well illustrated and carefully explained. Devereux comes across as a precise, sensitive, and spacious teacher with a good understanding of yoga's profundities.
