Totally true! As the seasons change we must adapt our bodies! Thanks for sharing!
i would like to know if anyone can give some really great Ayurvedic websites that educate and if anyone can also refer me to some Natural food sites as well? Thank you.
@bubbasheep -- A very real part of eating the Ayurvedic way is learning about what your body needs and delivering it. Sugar, hydrogenated fat, and refined flours aren't very nourishing (the apples are OK), so traditional apple pie wouldn't be the best choice. Maybe one made with a nut-based crust and a light crumb topping? But you're going to need your salads, your whole grains, your legumes, ...
@Cristina -- you might want to look at some of the excellent Ayurvedic cookbooks out there. I'm thinking of the ones by Amadea Morningstar, which have a lot of information about what pacifies which dosha, and about immediate and longer-term effects.
Nice to know so many non indians intersted in Yoga and ayurveda.
One More thing you need to know with Kapha ,Pitta and vata is astrologty
In indian astrology lets say you run the time period of Sun and Sun is very strong in your horoscope then you will have Pita Problems.
The things you are seeing and reading are static..The kapha and Phita and vatha changes as the time scale of your hrosocope change...Just as universie is not static your body is not static and you need to understand the logic of universe and doahsa in your body....
If Agni or the "digestive fire" is strong we're able to digest food efficiently and easily assimilate our daily experiences. On the other hand, if Agni is weak our body won't digest well, creating toxic residues or AMA that lodges deep in our cells. I Hope this answer your question MARIA
Which would be the best diet for a pitta imbalance suffering heartburn and indigestion?
