When I get extreme anxiety, I try deep breathing and use some visualization techniques my aunt taught me and It really helped. I also exercise and it works too. I am going to try Yoga too :)
Very pleasant reading and very informative also. Regular practice of yoga will help us to stay calm and relaxed in daily life and also gives you the strength to face anxiety disorders that we face in our daily routines. It is good to do yoga to decrease the stress levels but yoga alone should not be considered as the only treatment option. We have to practice yoga through proper medication after consultation with a doctor or specialist.
This article was most helpful to me by far. I finally understand GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder)and am now aware atleast that I too have been a sufferer all my life and I am 33. (Add OCD and Panic Disorder) I am new to yoga and am enjoying every bit of its healing benefits thus far. I am focusing on pranayama, more and more now. I never would have known anything about mindful breathing and connecting with prayna before I discovered yoga. I find it abosolutely amazing that this practice has been arounjd for atleast 5000 yrs and no doctor has ever even mentioned wholistic healing through yoga. But then again I guess it would probably put most doctors and pharmeceutical companies out of business. I'm even eating better now for some reason. I no longer eat meat which most of my friends can't believe. I'm grateful that I found out through this article instead of some doctor's office, because I've always been hesitant towards being put on a pill for anything. Thanks for publishing this article yoga journal... I will share this with everyone I can think of who just might benefit..
