This is my favorite yoga pose. I teach chair yoga to seniors and this pose always gets them laughing--and breathing, which they very much need.

I am 70 & just started Yoga. I enjoy it so much I am thinking of taking another class (both beginner's). A year ago I began Clinical Pilates & my instructor told me this week I am so much stronger. I think maintaining my strength as I age is all important. One more thing, I became vegetarian also, love it. Can't believe how out of shape I used to be! 300 ft. & I was puffing.

I love the comment 'nobody wants to partner with a lion'!

I teach yoga to a group of seniors YMCA who had never done yoga before. They range in age from 50's to mid-80's. The important thing to remember when taking a class is that you are in charge of your body. Take it slow and pay close attention to your own body and breath. What may seem impossible will become possible if you allow yourself to progress slowly and at your own pace.

Yes, yes, yes,!!! Of course you can begin! You will discover how how wonderful it feels! I am a bit younger (51) and started yoga 7 yrs. ago for the purpose of healing a specific health issue and I simply feel in love with the practice. I can't say enough about the healing properties of yoga. So I say: go for it!! Begin slowly and allow yourself to grow. Enjoy!!
