I believe Shiva Rae refers to this pose as Heart to Earth. I, too, prefer that to "Puppy" since I don't think there is a real Sanskrit name for this asana. |

Lizard pose is a hip-opener (google on it). Shishosana is bad sanskrit, I think. I think it's supposed to be shishu + asana but that should be shishuvasana, not shishosana. And shishu doesn't mean puppy anyway, it's just a baby animal. There is no Sanskrit for puppy. So it's a baby stretch. |
