I have been doing this pose for years, but I did not know what to call it. LOL.

kelly hennessey

I absolutely love yoga.

Jo

Anaheartasana as in heart chakra

Berthe

I believe the Sanskrit name of this pose is Anahatasana.

Chelsea

The Sanskrit name is Anahatasana.

Sasha

does anyone have an idea of how the sanskrit is pronounced?

Kelly

I believe Shiva Rae refers to this pose as Heart to Earth. I, too, prefer that to "Puppy" since I don't think there is a real Sanskrit name for this asana.

At lease two photos of the action would help to proper proform workout.

Hazel

Lizard pose is a hip-opener (google on it). Shishosana is bad sanskrit, I think. I think it's supposed to be shishu + asana but that should be shishuvasana, not shishosana. And shishu doesn't mean puppy anyway, it's just a baby animal. There is no Sanskrit for puppy. So it's a baby stretch.
