I believe the Sanskrit name comes from the mother of Hanuman, Anjaney. Another name for Hanuman is "the son of Anjaney": Anjaneya. |

I would like to know the Sanskrit root words for this pose. Thanks. |

@Kelly. You can have her lift her hand as she's bringing /whichever foot she's bringing forward. That way, she's not only getting the foot in between the hands, but also also building core. |

This is such a cool pose I recommend though being a teacher myself that you pull the bones as far apart from each other as possible because it may seem as if it would hurt but actually it relaxes more the farther the bones are separated. I hope you guys try this it works amazingly. IF YOU HAVE JOINT PROBLEMS DO NOT TRY THIS IT WILL MAKE IT WORSE |

I have a yoga student who has trouble moving from Adho Mukha Svanasana into the low lunge. Her leg makes it half way, and she needs to use her hand to move her foot between her hands. I feel buiding strength in the core will help. Any other suggestions? |

Thank You!!! I do sunsalutations every morning and now can do them without the frustration of not being able to smoothly get my foot between my hands! This tip helped soo much! |
