I just injured my lower back doing a seated forward bend. I went too deep. When my nose touched my knees my body sprang back to seated and I saw stars. 3 days later I am still tight and sore. Is there anything I can do to releive my discomfort? |

You must get the extension in the pelvis in order to do forward bends correctly, otherwise, yes they can cause injury. Pregnant students can do this pose with modifications. |

Forward bend is contraindicated by modern sports medicine since it can cause lower back injury. Please comment. |

What about for pregnant women? I thought this pose was harmful.... but there's no mention of it in the contradictions and cautions..... |

I'm finding it difficult to bend forward so that my torso is "folded" onto my thighs--I look more like an inverted checkmark. Any tips? |

Could you advise which of the 7 chakras Uttanasana works on pre-dominantly. Is it the Mooladhara ? or the sacralic one ? |
