they have explained the pose on the left. Note the position of the feet. Right slightly turned in, left to 90 degrees - so that is left Warrior 2 first. Just confusing as we normally always start with right first and the photo is on the right leg.

In Step 3, am I mistaken, or are left and right switched? If the right leg is forward, the right knee bends and the right shin is perp. to floor...right?


@Anonymous "Those joints" being the knee, hip, or knee & hip? If the knee is at issue then use a folding metal chair and place the front hamstring on the seat in the pose. If it is not enough height use a folded blanket between the hamstring and the seat surface.

thank you...I am a ryt 200 instructor, but not sure how to get the benefits of Warriors without bending leg......seems to me that keeping straight legs would be acceptable if I could even shorten the stance and bend it ever so slightly?


I am unable to bend knees and put pressure on those joints...can I modify Warrior poses to straight legs rather than knee over ankle right angle bend?


I'd like to know if their are any emotional benefits associated with this particular posture?


She could have tendonitis. Does she have other ankle issues in Vira poses, Triko or Side Angle?


I have a student who complains of a burning sensation on the outside of her back ankle in warrior 2. I thought she might be rolling to far out on the outer edge of her heel, but that doesn't seem to be the issue. Any suggestions?
