Susan is the best and instructs from the heart, good article. I love this site's info on each pose, very user friendly. |

It would be more helpful if the photo matched the instructions. She's mirroring them (her left leg on top and right arm descending...) Otherwise a great breakdown. |

I've been working through the Light on Yoga courses and I noticed that Iyengar suggests sitting on the heels and putting the weight of the body on the crossed legs. I dislocated my knee the first time I tried it that way. I like the way it is pictured here much better. Much safer for me with my history of knee problems. |

This is a very advanced pose. How come the beginner tips don't say anything about holding onto a strap behind the back? There are also important internal and external [humeral bone] rotation realities that can't be addressed by blasting right by the tightness and trying to do this pose. Please provide some more tips for beginners that actually address the arm portion of this pose. |

Cathy, It sounds like you did something beyond what the body was prepared to do, to cause the femur to move. Surely it was painful and I am sorry for that. I will be suggesting that my students who cannot sit with both sitz bones on floor use a folder blanket. Hope you are feeling much better now. |

Last I was doing the cow fase pose at home but with a forward bend. My femur clicked out from my hip. That wasn't funny at all. So what do I do wrong? |

I am glad you have discovered Andrey Lappa. I am one of his many devout students. |
