I disagree that Chaturagas are not good for lower back issues. I am an instructor and have chronic back issues if done properly it is actually good for low back pain it will strengthen the low back if you do these postures correctly.

Hi Tatyiana, I am a yoga practitioner and I have practiced and studied with Jason Crandell many times over. I truly believe that Jason here is referring to practitioners with non-chronic conditions in their bodies. I am positive, this information written by him is Not referring to Everybody type. Obviously, if there are practitioners with more severe physical ailments going on within their lower backs, SI, Hamstrings, etc. as you have mentioned. Jason would have written a very specific article for such conditions to these specific practitioners experiencing such issues. Jason here I am positive, is ONLY referring to people in good body condition, that can practice Chaturanga and upward dog. I have studied with Jason enough, to assure this is what he is instructing here. All the best to you and Peace.

low Back problem and Chatrtanga not friends a t all: Sphinks or Baby Cobra the solution.
But low back pain had so many reasons as : Dislocated Disk, SI and tight hamstrings, addactors, rotators ...
Instructor get the FACTS.
Some times yoga can do wars.
