I never knew there was so many ways to breath. But after learning about the different kinds I am definitely a chest-breather.
I'm an overbreather and have spent years trying to even out my breath with little (short lived) success. Any suggestions on how to balance one's breath?
i suffer from anxiety and have shallow breathing and overbreathe too.would yoga help me to overcome this problem?
To SPSenewiratna - More alternate breathing! My experience, too is that alternate breathing blocks my nasal passages, and I use a neti pot almost everyday. I find that even though it can be a bit annoying, if you continue with the cycle and concentrate on how invigorating it is for mind and body, your nostrils will clear themselves. I am not a medical professional and can not claim that your asthma is a non-issue, but again, working with the breath in this way seems like it could only help and is very unlikely to hurt.
I find it impossibe to do alternate nostril breathing my nose gets blocked up. I am asthmatic would there be a connection? How can I over come this problem?
I think yoga is very relaxing and meditating is my favourite.
