Katie Flinn Gardner of COIL YOGA in Fresno California is my teacher, who is quite deserving of some recognition. Her teaching style is gentle, nurturing, playful yet serious. She is in tune with her students on a level like no teacher I have met yet. She is a beautiful example of a strong, smart woman. I am so grateful to be her student and urge anyone who has the chance to be hers too.

Heather is a new Yoga Teacher at Yoga-360 Studio & Spa in Frankfort, IL, Heather teachs a Gentle Yoga Class there that is perfect for beginner or those coming off an injury. Her caring and nurturing style is shines as she teaches. Heather was diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis at the age of twelve. She was fitted with the Harrington brace for about a year to no avail. After the hard realization that her spinal curvatures would continue to worsen, she underwent corrective surgery with Harrington rods at the age of nineteen. Having this surgery has only further strengthened her love of physical fitness. She has been seen by many doctors, physical therapists, pain specialists, chiropractors, massage therapists, acupuncturists, and other body workers. Heather has found most of her pain relief through physical fitness, yoga practice and meditation. By teaching yoga, Heather hopes to help others find pain and stress relief as well as body awareness and physical wellness. There are no obstacles too big to conquer. Wellness is within everyone and if we dig deep enough our bodies will take us to amazing places. Through yoga all things are possible and Moksha (liberation) is found. You can see her schedule at www.yoga-360.com

Whenever I travel to Santa Barbara I seek the classes offered by Heather Tiddens at the Yoga Soup and Santa Barbara Yoga Center. Heather can open your heart and joints wiith her clear instructions and intelligent approach to the body, mind and spirit. She guides the poses through deep, introspective time on the mat, that is worth it all.

Blessings,
Laura Harrison has been my yoga instructor for the past two years at the Natural Method Studio in Amsterdam, NY. I believe the Universe knew what it was doing by calling Laura into serving and developing a yogic community. She is the prime example of serve, love, give, purify, meditate and realize. She serves selfishly, loves unconditionally, gives wholeheartedly. She teaches her students more than yoga poses. She mentors the yogic style of living. Throughout a yoga practice she teaches us to love and respect ourselves-not judging where we would like be in a pose, however, enjoying where we are in the moment of self acceptance, the rest just follows. The studio is full of mindful meditations, prayer, laughter and peace honoring our interconnectedness with sincere purification for one's mind, body and spirit. Laura has a gentle way of encouraging one to become their best in all facets of life. Laura goes above and beyond the normal expectations. I literally could write pages on how her influence in my life has "saved my life" daily. She helps me unfold , letting go of my weeknesses toward the magnificent enlightenment we all seek--not a light statement, but a true one. To try and sum it up : my to the day experiences with Laura; I will use a Hindu quote "Cling to the feet of a master who can introduce you to yourself." Swami Veda Bharati : ..... "I, Eileen, am doing just that..." Namaste.

On Oct.5, 2006 I walked into your class for the first time. I swear to you, the moment you opened your mouth I knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be. Just me. No friends. No one person in the room I knew and yet I felt completely and utterly at home. You were the reason for that. By Shivasana, I knew this beautiful thing called yoga was something I would always want in my life. When I think of all we've done, all you've taught me, I'm blown away!! So many of us have said it-You Are Irreplacable...I will contine my practice, you know that but I know already that it will always be Your voice I hear inside my head. Inside my heart. I am a lion you raised from a cub & One Hundred lifetimes from now 'there will always be recognition'. Of your voice, the way with which you move. Even the placement of your hands upon my shoulders. From the bottom of my heart and the center of my soul~Thank You! I love you, my teacher, my friend, my family :)

Nicki Foreman-Levitan (Nada Shakti) in Antwerp Belgium has a yoga studio called Yoga Form. Nada Shakti is one of the most inspirational, dedicated teachers i have ever come across. Whether it's her dynamic Vinyasa or her theraputic/meditative Satyananda class, both make you walk away feeling the joy of life and the desire to bring that to others. to me that's what yoga is about. Nada Shakti donates a large portion of her earnings to foundations across the world ... from cancer survivors to homeless children.
