108 is very symbolic, do some research into the meaning and reason for the number.
Also, yes, very strenuous and something that must be worked up to.
Time? Not something I think about during practice.
a reminder of sun salutations and their efficacy..xo
108 repetitions??? Won't that take time and also be too strenuous??
that 'sense' advertisements is SO annoying!!!!

I sometimes like to add a full breath (inhale/exhale or exhale/inhale) in between each pose. It really helps focus the mind and bring awareness to each part of the sequence.
did i miss the left leg brought back into a lunge then on into plank. what happened to the right leg? yes, i know it follows, but maybe a new person wouldn't.
Yoga Journal has advised in other wirtings that those who have Prakriti dominated by the Pitta dosha (one of the three Ayurvedic Doshas that comprise one's Yogic personality) should do smaller quanitities of sun salutations.
Remember to consider this when delving in!
I am just a kid and I think this is soooo coolio!
Great article. First give focus on flow. Second on body technique. Third on Breath. At least try to combinate those three aspects.
It's good to chant the surya mantras between the rounds, because you can relax physically, regenerate your breath and also connect with the divine. Don't forget the divine in yoga. Yoga is worshipping of the divine by physical and mental training!

Lightheadedness may be cause by incorrect breathing. Inhale as you stretch up and exhale going down. Also, if you slow down the pace of your surya and become more mindful of each asana, your breath should slow down thus preventing you from over breathing which can cause your problem. Remember take it easy and enjoy the moment.
