Yoga Journal Names Kristen Schultz Dollard Director of Brand Strategy and Digital Project Development

San Francisco, CA (October 22, 2013)

Yoga Journal today announced that Kristen Schultz Dollard has joined as Director of Brand Strategy and Digital Project Development. In this new position, Schultz Dollard, who completed a 200-hour registered yoga trainings with Alan Finger in 2004 and Baron Baptiste in 2009, will be responsible for expressions of the Yoga Journal brand across many different channels. She will oversee online and offline Yoga Journal experiences including print, digital, mobile, social and events. Notably, she is overseeing the relaunch of the Yoga Journal website now underway.

Prior to joining Yoga Journal, Schultz Dollard was Digital Director of Conde Nast's SELF Magazine, where she grew site traffic and unique users over 100% year over year, earning an ASME nomination for Digital General Excellence. In her four-year tenure at Rodale, Inc., she launched Women's Health Magazine and served as Digital Editorial Director of Rodale International, where she brought to market Women's Health Magazine internationally while handling the content strategy and digital growth plans for Men's Health, Runner's World, and Prevention. While serving as the Editorial Director of Rodale's iYogalife.com and Yogalife Magazine, she grew Rodale's yoga audience to 250,000 registered users in one year. Most recently, Schultz Dollard was Associate Vice President of Ecommerce at Christie's, the fine art auction house. She began her career at ABC News' "Good Morning America."

Alongside Ayurvedic physician John Douillard, Schultz Dollard is the author of The Yoga Body Diet: Slim & Sexy (Without the Stress), which has sold over 25,000 copies.

"Kristen will be responsible for repositioning Yoga Journal across all platforms as we transition into a 21st-century yoga media company," says Patricia Fox, General Manager of Active Interest Media's Healthy Living Group and Senior Vice President of Operations. "Her extensive experience in both media and digital ensures that Yoga Journal will move to the next level."

"An integral part of Kristen's work has been to grow ad and subscription revenue through content and social integration programs," says Bill Harper, Vice President and Group Publisher of the Healthy Living Group. "The value of Kristen's experience is to think about our advertisers as partners in order to innovate the brand and create smart ways to grow our audiences and business by leveraging our editorial integrity and unique point of view."

"Bar none, Yoga Journal is the most revered yoga brand in the media business," says Schultz Dollard. "As a mother, yoga teacher and media professional, I am honored to be part of Yoga Journal's future. With 20 million people doing yoga today, I look forward to joining the conversation that allows our brand to become the premier accessible, sophisticated, authentic and inspiring yoga destination for everyone from the New York Giants (who do yoga!) to the yoga teacher next door."

Schultz Dollard earned her B.A. from New York University, where she majored in Women's Studies and Journalism.
