namaste, new year

YJ: What are your yoga resolutions for the New Year and why?

Bethany Lyons: My yoga resolutions are huge! In my personal yoga practice, I’d like to maintain drishti (gaze) as the keystone, to create focus and vision in my world at a new level. I’d also like to increase the number of 90-minute practices I do each week, because I love a challenge. Finally, I’d like to play in Handstand (Adho Mukha Vrksasana) more than ever, because play brings creativity and fun into my life. Couldn't we all use more of that?

In my yoga studentship, I plan to continue to work with Baron Baptiste, Paige Elenson, and The Baptiste Institute to continually raise the bar in my practice, delivery, connection, and teaching. I also plan to take a class with over 25 different teachers. Why? Because I am always growing and learning. I do not think you can be a high-impact teacher without forever and always being a student.

In my yoga business, I’d like to triple the number of students we get to experience Baptiste Yoga at Lyons Den Power Yoga and open a second location in NYC. Why? Because I want to share this practice with as many people as possible. It is truly life-changing.
