Don’t miss YJ’s first-ever Business of Yoga online course, launching in 2015. Sign up here now to receive powerful teachings from our experts and free videos each week to take your yoga career to the next level.

We can give you all the best tools, tricks, and strategies to get your yoga teaching career to thrive. Yet if we don’t spend any time addressing one of the biggest roadblocks to success, none of this will matter. That obstacle, it turns out, has nothing to do with knowing how to run a business: it’s fear. Fear comes in many forms, making it very difficult to trace at times. It turns the mind toward the negative, maybe thinking about other yoga teachers and studios as competition, and turns you away from being able to create real magic in your life.

Know Fear When You Face It

  1. Recognize fear. The first, and most important step, is the ability to discern fear from reason and to understand its many faces. Knowing exactly what is coming between you and your success allows you to treat the cause, instead of patching over it with an unrelated solution.
  2. Move forward. The next step is to move past fear in the direction you wish to go. You must learn the antidotes to fear, so once you trace it and understand it for what it is, you can treat the root of the problem.
