This week, you can expect heart-based expression, inner wisdom, and whispers of new beginnings withWe are about to be offered the guidance of the new Moon in Leo as well as our annual Jupiter retrograde.
New Moon in Leo
On the night of a new Moon, the sky is dark. Over the course of her cycle, the Moon empties herself to such an extent that she eventually becomes vacant and seemingly empty, unable to reflect any light. We observe this necessary cycle of coming to nothingness throughout nature. Think of the fact that spring can come only after winter ends. Within this nothingness lies everything. Within this stillness lies the potential for all forms of life to emerge. The inevitable meeting with emptiness is a transformative force that helps us free ourselves from what is ready to be surrendered to the past, whether previous identities, habits, ways of being, careers, or relationships.
The new Moon is a fresh slate. A rebirth. A new beginning. An unconditional permission slip to be and do whatever we desire in that moment of pure potential. On July 28, we will experience a new Moon in Leo. The fire sign is intrinsically connected with the wisdom of the heart and is intimately related to leading from the heart, expressing from the heart, taking steps from the heart, and dreaming from the heart. This approach to our days is where we find our deepest fulfillment and happiest experiences. Leo reminds us that we cannot live fully with a closed heart.
Emboldened by this brazen sign, the new Moon will invite us to a new, passion-filled, heart-guided chapter that’s about to begin and will be bolder and louder than ever before. The Leo-influenced lunation will invite us to heal through play, find medicine through laughter, and self-nourish through our passions. It reminds us that we are worthy of our dreams, of love, of taking up space, and expressing ourselves without inhibition.
Jupiter retrograde in Pisces
Jupiter is the planet of growth, good luck, abundance, and happiness. It possesses a deeply intuitive relationship with wisdom and higher knowledge, as if its intention is to remind us of just how supported and magnificent we are, that life is on our side, and that growth is the natural state of the Universe and, therefore, the natural state of each of us.
A slower moving planet, Jupiter spends an entire year in a zodiac sign before transitioning into the next. Once during that year-long cycle, it goes into retrograde. On July 28, we meet our annual Jupiter retrograde. While in retrograde, the outward and expressive energy of Jupiter turns inward. Instead of seeking wisdom through the world around it, we seek it from within. Instead of witnessing our outside world as where the adventure takes place, we become the destination, with our inner landscapes becoming our favorite source of intrigue.
While we move through this retrograde and witness any beliefs, ways of being, or old identities coming to the surface, we can stay in the knowing and trust that these ways of being are here so that they may be witnessed, healed, and released. You deserve a life free from all that does not serve you. Jupiter retrograde is here to remind us of that.
Your invitation for the astrology this week
The beauty of allowing astrology into our lives is the awareness that we gain when we look to it for guidance. Each time a planet moves or the Moon begins its cycle anew, we can step into a new partnership with that planet and allow it to act as a cosmic teacher.
As the Moon begins again in Leo, we step into partnership with it. As Jupiter moves into retrograde, we step into partnership with it. The invitation is always to connect with your own relationship with these planets and to hear the whispers that they uniquely guide you with as your teachers, whether through meditation, movement, journaling, or whatever it may be that brings you into connection with self and life.
The new Moon as a teacher is journeying with us so that we may free ourselves from limitation and begin again in a way that is true to our heart and allows space for creativity, joy, and ultimate self-expression. Under this lunation, let yourself become empty. Let the unknown become you, and you it. Let stillness wash over you and silence clear your mind. It is here the new doors will open and new courage will be found. And it is here that new life will be born.
Similar to how a full Moon illuminates all aspects of self, Jupiter’s approach expands all aspects of self and everything inside of us. It expands our wishes and dreams, our wisdom and love, and makes them bigger, brighter, and easier to see and feel. It also expands our fears, old stories, patterns, and beliefs that no longer serve us and that we are ready to outgrow. It allows us to see with clarity what to embrace, step into, celebrate, and what to heal and gratefully say goodbye to what needs to be released.
