Three of the most highly regarded Ayurvedic spices — cumin, coriander, and turmeric — make an amazing facial. This particular blend is great for most skin types, but you might want to do a small skin test before applying the whole mask.
– 3 parts finely ground, organic turmeric powder
– 1 part finely ground, organic cumin powder
– 1 part finely ground, organic coriander powder
– Enough water to make a paste
Mix all ingredients in a small bowl. Rub the paste on moist skin. Leave for no more than 15 minutes. It’s also a good idea to keep your mask moist as it sits. I recommend spraying your face with water or rose hydrosol to keep the mask wet. After 15 minutes, wash the mask off with cool water. Remember, turmeric can be slightly staining to the face, so you may get a lovely golden glow from the mask. Most people love this, but if you skin is very white, use less turmeric and more cumin and coriander for a less staining mask. Follow up with a light moisturizer.
